Thanks for the update! Sarge sure is a handsome guy!!Hi Everyone, Its almost 2 months since Sarge has joined our flock. The girls are getting used to his habits and he has come into his own. He is a great boy and what a character. He must always be by the outside wall in the coop each night, if not he will crow until he gets his way .
He is a great protector now. He had to fight off a hawk that got into the coop a few weeks ago . He is a hero and saved the girls. We lost our Olive but it would have been far worst without Sarge. He had no injuries. We don't know what we would do without him now. Have a great day all.
Sarge contradicts all the people who write that you should never expect the sons of "aggressive" roosters to make good flock leaders. Sarge is only 7 months old and the son of Satan.I'm so happy to hear Sarge is working out! There's nothing like a good rooster to protect your girls!
Beautiful photo!Hi - Hope everyone is well and safe at home. Here is a new picture of Sarge free ranging with some of the girls this past weekend. He found that the deck railing is a great place to crow from. Take care. View attachment 2068701
