I am looking to start keeping chickens and need advice!!!

We live in an area that sees high temps in the summer approaching or exceeding 100 degrees. Our home was built in an old tobacco field, so no trees (as of yet). I am concerned about the high temps and how it will affect chickens if there is not adequate shade. We have shade cloth that could be used. Any advice- or opinions- will be appreciated!

Hi! We planted some Austrian Black Pines in our front yard and man did they grow fast!! They are really pretty too! I can't remember what the growth rate was, I think like a foot a year?

DLS, I see you are from the same parts as I am. We moved from the Albany area in the spring and now are 17 miles from the FL state line. Thanks for the advice. I just don't want to be irresponsible and if I need to wait a year to get some shade going then that is what I will do.
