from Ohio. I think if you build a shelter for them so that it is mainly open in the summer with some type of wind brake to protect them from hard rains and windy days, they should do just fine. Just don't let them run out of water. I put white vinegar in the waterer in the summer to keep down algae, chickens do not seem to care, but I don't like looking at algae growing in their water. They will drink a lot of water in hot weather. We get a lot of 90+ degrees days here in Ohio and they survive the heat quite well. Mine actually seem to hate winter worse than summer, as it is hard to even lure them out of the coop if there is snow on the ground.

Hi and Welcome from another Georgian

I am near Augusta -- we see highs in the 100's as well, and the humidity to boot. Lots of dust bathing going on, they hang out under the bushes. I keep cool water for them close by and treat with lots of grapes, water melon and ice too.

PM if you want a rooster...
