Hi there! My own DH (dear husband) is from south LA (not the west coast LA, the REAL / OTHER LA!! (He is from a bayou community called Lafitte -- south of New Orleans). I ADORE my chickens! Not only do they provide us with a constant supply of tasty protein via their fresh eggs, they never fail to amuse me with their antics! Each one has his/her own unique personality, and I never tire of watching their interaction as they go through their day, just being chickens. (That's probably why I am so far behind on my inside stuff...

) At any rate, it's so nice to meet you. I hope you do decide on raising the chickens -- I'll bet even if your children don't find it to be "their cup of tea", you and your DH will probably become smitten soon enough.

Hi!

I'm a Newbie as well. I'm originally from Houma, LA and my mom and dad live on a farm outside Amite, LA. I'm trying to get her to sign up as she's about to become a chicken owner. It's always nice to meet people from back home. Hope your chicken venture goes well!!!
