I'm a central Florida girl, born and raised, and I own 3 Blue Laced Wyandottes (no rooster) for the first time in my life. My daughter called me one day and said "Hey Mom, you want some chicks to raise for eggs?" and of course I said Yes! She, herself, got 5, one for each of my grandchildren. They love them!
They were born June 22, 2018 so they are still babies I guess. Only 1 of the 3 is laying 1 egg a day. I'm glad patience is my best virtue....lol. I enjoy being outside and letting them free roam then back in the coop area so critters don't get them, especially at night. It was exciting when I got my first egg! Almost like catching my first big fish!
I also have an Asian Bengal cat (10 years old), a yellow cockatiel (12 years old), and a multitude of colorful fish in a 30 gallon tank!
I was surfing the internet for information on chickens when I came across BYC. The more I read and looked through the site, the more I liked it. The community is great and has been wonderful answering any questions I have had. I LOVE BYC!!
