Wanted to just jump right in and introduce myself, my name is Kate! I'm from Kentucky. I grew up on a small farm, my folks raised pigs, chickens, and rabbits and my husband was raised with chickens, horses, cows, and pigs. I have two children and another on the way and we bought our family a home on 4.5 acres a year ago in May. We have an Aussie/Golden Retriever, named Griffin. And we will be adding 25 chicks to to our bunch early march!! I have lurked for a long time and read so much useful and great advise on here! So, I'm very excited to get to learn more and contribute where I can!!

Thanks Desert Dweller!!! He is a big ole baby. A few nights back we heard police sirens twice and each time he attempted to howl "like" the siren. The hubs and I cracked up cause it was obvious he was having a bit of an identity crisis! hahaha Thanks for the warm welcome hun!!

LOL!!! He is one of those rare breeds! I have yet to get ANY eggs from him!

lol I am curious to see how he will fare with chickens around, it's a learning experience for every "family" member.
