I don't know much about horses but she's beautiful.
- Hi, I have a few questions. I rescued my horse from Lilly Ponds. They did not have her papers, but they new for sure that she was a Quarter Horse. They told us she was a Quarter Horse cross. Her color is an Amber Champange (very rare). She has a head bigger than a Quarter Horse head and very long legs. I was wondering if she was just a Quarter Horse or if she really is crossed with something. If so, what is she crossed with?
Thanks for the info!Welcome to BYC! This is a great place to learn! Congrats on your rescue horse. Just by looking at your mare it would be hard to determine if she was a pure QH or a cross. I do know the AQHA will cross Thoroughbreds with QHs and you still get AQHA papers so perhaps she has some TB in her pedigree that would explain the long legs etc. Her color is very special! Incidentally I had a champagne QH mare for a little less than a year and she did have very long legs as well. Perhaps the champagne color lines are leggier than others.
Thank you!I don't know much about horses but she's beautiful.
