Hello. Not having much luck with our 4 chickens (I've posted in the disease section). At the moment we have a sick Barnevelder (used to be the unfailing layer of the four-always guaranteed an egg from her), an Australorp (the bossy one who even bosses around the dog), a Buff Orpington (the gentle giant who goes into broodiness every 10 eggs), and a Welsummer (the dopey unsociable one who runs away whenever I throw food out).

Hi retrochic! :frow :welcome

It's great to have you join the flock! I'm sorry it is under such circumstances.
Hopefully someone will be able to give some knowledge on your situation. :)

Hello and welcome to BYC. I see that you posted 30 minutes ago in the ER forum. I think that you'll get some feedback in 6 hours or so, since most of the ER gurus are in the US and will have retired for the night. Please be patient.

When we first got the chickens he would just chase them but eventually we trained him not to. Then Black Star (Australorp) figured out that she could chase HIM instead and he would run away. Now there is a quasi-stalemate live-and-let-live between them. If he gets too close then he is in for it, if he's really peeved she gets it. She is one smart chicken though!
