(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am very new to chickens. I’ve wanted them for a bit over a year now and have only just begun my journey!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently I have 17. The original plan was to keep a max of 6 but they’re just so interesting and beautiful! There are so many amazing breeds!

(3) What breeds do you have? Currently I have 2 California Whites, 4 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 2 Bantams, 3 Pullets (Assorted), and 6 Rhode Island Reds

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I’ve been going back and forth between this forum and google and y’all always had better, more in-depth answers.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I’m actually still in school, close to graduation so between work, school and my chickens there’s not much else to do.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a precious mutt called Molly. She’s almost 6 and the best dog I’ve ever had. I also have a 13 year old cat named Moki. She’s a fighter but old age has made her sweet. I’m also about to purchase my very first mini pig (a Juliana)!

G’Day from down under miasimpson :frow Welcome and Congratulations! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
