Hey there!! My name is Samantha, but I go by Sam or Sammy usually. I am an elementary teacher. I teach science to grades 1-6, math to 4th and computer technology to 4th-6th. I also create signs and other decor and sell on etsy. When I am not doing either of those things, I am reading, completing logic puzzles, putting a puzzle together, cuddling and playing with my pets, or spending quality time with friends and family.

I am new to owning chickens. My hens hatched on March 26th, and I got them two days later. I have 6 hens and 1 rooster. Three of my hens are Barred Plymouth Rocks and the other three are Rhode Island Reds. My rooster is a Bantam Golden Seabright. I found out about Backyardchickens.com by constantly looking up information and stumbling onto the page while looking for answers.

Aside from our chickens, my fiance and I have two Chihuahuas, a Siamese cat, a tiger cat, 3 fish, and 2 chinchillas. I'm a huge animal person!
