Thank you for accepting me. We have been raising chickens on and off for many years. We started when our girls were in 4H. They are now grown 28 and 30.We live in Northwest Ct. I love my chickens, they are more pets than anything. I have an assortment of mixed breeds. I'm trying to decide if I should get fertile eggs or buy chicks this year. There are pros and cons on both sides, but I would love to hear what others think. Thank you in advance for your opinions.

The easier way to go is just buying chicks, however, the effort you put into getting hatching eggs makes the reward all the greater when you have a successful hatch. Others will have more specific information.

There are good sides to both incubation and chick raising. If you decide to incubate, your number of chicks and ratio of cockerels per pullets is unpredictable though.
