Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
Your DH doesn't like chickens!?? Has he ever had them?

We actually "rented" chicks for two weeks this past month to give us a little taste of chicken keeping and he hated it. He didn't want to touch them or get near them. He doesn't like "barnyard" animals and is generally ambivalent toward most animals. Basically if it requires more care than a succulent, he's not a big fan. He does like our dog and is a great dad to our kids, he just doesn't want anything else to care for. It's been made clear that these will be MY chickens... but he'll be happy to program anything I want automated (he's a computer engineer).

Maybe he will soften his stance when he sees the kids love the chicks
