(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hi! I’m a new chicken momma, not including the meat birds we had when I was five lol! I just got my first batch of chicks on Tuesday!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6
(3) What breeds do you have? 2 Plymouth Blue Rock (Amy and Lou), 1 Black Australorp (Sophia), 1 Isa Brown (Dorothy), 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte (Blanche), 1 Rhode Island Red (Rose)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love watching them with their quirks and personalities! I’m looking forward to getting eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I ride horses (trail riding for now), photography, writing, and I’m also 4-H leader!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m not married and don’t have kids, but I am very close to my nieces (ages 7 & 8) and nephew (almost 4). I work as a School Age Program Assistant for our school’s daycare (K-2nd) . In addition to my chicks, I have a Paint horse named Gia and an Aussie named Buck!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
With every question or inquiry I googled, BYC always came up with multiple answers! I want to keep my girls in the best health and a happy as possible, so that’s why I’m here!
