Hello everyone! I’m Kelly and I’m getting a serama hen, I’m so excited!!! I’ve been doing a ton of research and talking to the Breeder. I curious if I should get one or two? I know one will bond with me better but I’m concerned about her being upset and calling for me when I’m not home. Does anyone here have only one and how is it going?

Three is the best number. Chickens are SO social. Never get one unless it's gonna live in the house like a dog. Two isn't even that great but it's better than one.

Thank you so much everyone! I do plan on having her in the house “like a dog” LOL great point of reference, I love it. I know more than one is ideal for them socially however I’m limited on space at the moment. My friend has a hen and she’s very much like a dog. She will have a friend every so often. I want her to bond with me, I also don’t want to restrict her or cause her emotional distress.
