Hi!

I want her to bond with me, I also don’t want to restrict her or cause her emotional distress.
Hello, Kelly, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Then get 3. Chickens are flock animals and do NOT do well alone.
I would also set up a predator proof outdoor area they can enjoy so they can sun bathe, dust bathe and scratch around on the earth. Please consider their needs over your wants.

Hi, Kelly, and welcome to BYC! I'm so glad that you're here! :wee
I would recommend having at least one other companion for your new chicken! Chickens, in my experience, generally are happiest with a flock of three or more. If you are concerned about her not wanting to spend time with you because she has other chickens to connect to, rest assured that spending lots of time with her, cuddling her, and just in general being there for her will help her grow accustomed to you. :)

Hi Kelly , I have one serama rooster , the one in my avatar, he holds his own with the other chickens . One day I was petting a hen and and I thought a mosquito was biting me it turned out to be him attacking my hand .:lau :smackI want to get a few serama hens . I like him he is so tiny you have to see him beside my other rooster to see how small he is . Good luck . Welcome to BYC!

Hello everyone! I’m Kelly and I’m getting a serama hen, I’m so excited!!! I’ve been doing a ton of research and talking to the Breeder. I curious if I should get one or two? I know one will bond with me better but I’m concerned about her being upset and calling for me when I’m not home. Does anyone here have only one and how is it going?
thanks!!!
it would be best if you got a friend for your hen when your not home. oh, and :welcome
