My name is Chris D . My wife and I have a homestead in Coastal NC . We have 7 Hens that we are raising for eggs . They have been very therapeutic for us . We’ve had some difficulties but have managed to figure it out by reading some old posts .
I do have a few things haven’t figured out yet .
1) We have one chick who lays a egg with spots on the surface .
2) One or 2 of the hens seem to have a tarry blackish stool .

Any thoughts on this would be great . I didn’t think to take photos but maybe I can add some tomorrow in the light .

I would get some pictures and post them here or in our Emergency forum.

By spots do you mean bumps or actual different colored spots?

Strange poop can sometimes be cleared up with probiotics but that one might need further investigation.

Hi and Happy Holidays to you as well. The spots in the egg is like a blood spot from what I’ve read but we’re not 100% sure . I can scratch them off . We give the girls ACV in there water every day . They don’t seem I’ll at all . They are very alert and upbeat . We do have a runt In the flock but it’s not her that is having the issue .
