I have 3 girl chickens together with 11 girl ducks in a 3000 sq foot area. But they have separate houses for nighttime. and to be honest I have been thinking about separating them. My chickens do not approve of duck manners.

I free range my ducks and chickens with no issues, but they have different coops and runs.

Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd say hello,
I'm from down south near Portsmouth and have a back yard crew of 3 Cream leg bars (faverite chicken breed) , 2 Welsh harlequin ducks (faverite duck breed) and a mallard. All hatched by us, except Melanie (the mallard) who we rescued as a duckling and has just stayed.
We've recently taken on 5 Pekin ducks from a care home hatch.
Not new to keeping chickens or ducks but not long back into it from a few years gap.
Does anyone else keep

I do indeed have both, and haven't had any issues but they have their own separate coops. Just be careful if you have drakes around the chickens, as they have been known to try to breed them witch can be deadly for the chicken.

Thanks for the welcome yes I've heard that, I have 1 drake, they do have separate 'bedrooms' but all free range during daylight. They have been fine, but still all under a year old.. We're keeping a close eye on them xx
