i have a cockerel that is 16 weeks old now and it is from a black australorp hen. i bought 4 of these chicks from a local seller.
He said they were (to the best of his knowledge) pure australorp. He is a beautiful bird but he is definitely not pure black
australorp because he has a black comb and waddle. His feet are black as well, but not stark black like a Armani Cemani.
he has purple feathers on his back and some red, not much, around his neck. The seller later said that there were some RIR roosters in with the 16 hens. I was just wondering if this cockerel could be part Black Copper Maran? Thoughts? Anyone?
