After 10 years of raising chickens I have a BAD problem. Rats have found a path into my coop! They set up residence under an adjacent structure and are tunneling into my coop! What can I do?

There is hardware cloth you can burry or concrete block as a wall.

Good luck with your rat problem. Once you rid yourself of them, you should consider taking in all food at night to keep them from coming back.

Yes, hardware cloth or concrete or large pavers to block access. If you have to store anything ‘edible’ in or near coop or run use metal containers. Pick up feed containers at night

Hello! Welcome to BYC! Sorry you have a rat infestation. As several members have mentioned hardware cloth and or some kind of concrete pavers around the perimeter should do the trick! I always take in my feeders at night so no temptation for rodents. Best of luck getting them under control.

Agree with the others, we take up all food at night to not attract predators/critters.
