Hi

Hello and:welcome from Ontario,Canada !

About your Question....there is alot of information on here about heating the coop in cold weather....
I live in Ontario Canada and I only will turn the heat lamp on come Jan or Feb when it gets really really cold ...and its on a timer ...I have a temperature gauge at roost level so I know the actual temp. in the coop...I dont leave it on all the time because i am afraid if the power goes out they'll not be prepared for cold ..theres alot more things I do also .........But you'll find information on here.....good Luck !

I don't know about heating the coop in the winter since I live in Southern California- but I am a grama- and have six chickens and know about that!
BYC is a great place to chit/chat and find out just about anything you need to know about chickens- very helpful folks on here.
