I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself. As I have found out since reading in this forum several times in the last 18 months, chickens are addicting! javascript:insert_text('

I'm tickled to find out that there are many more out there just like me. I have 1 Delaware (Gertie), 2 White Rock (Lucy and Ethel), 1 Araucana (Mabel), 2 Silver-Laced Wyandotte (Isabel and Agatha), 2 Buff Orpington (Edna and Agnes), 2 Black Star (Madge and Mildred), and one that I'm not sure what but think something like a Gold Laced Cochin. This chick was an 'odd' one at the feed store. As I always root for the underdog, I bought it. We named it Betty but soon found out it was not just the odd one out but the 'odd man out'. So his name is now Boris. He has fluffy feet and is a beautiful black with shades of purple and a speckled neck. This fall Edna started setting and hatched out 3 cute chicks. One got out and before we discovered it something else did. Not to be outdone Mildred started setting about 10 days later. She hatched out 3 adorable chicks. They all have fluffy feet and not knowing how to determine sex we're waiting to see who starts laying eggs around Christmas when they will be 20 weeks old. My husband and I have 6 children and this week brought our 11th grandchild (a boy!). Our German shorthair dog of 18 years passed away last week. Although he was a bird-dog, he was good to the ladies, I just had to remind him a few times that he didn't chase these ladies. Glad to be a part of this forum and since I have a question I'll go to the appropriate place to ask it.javascript:insert_text('
