Hi all! I have been reading this forum for about a year now but never actually joined till today. Not sure why but I wish I had earlier! I first bought my 7 yr old daughter some "interesting chicks". They happened to be Silkies. Well we are hooked! Right now I have 2 hens that are VERY broody and working on their 2nd shared clutch of eggs. We also have 2 RIR and 1 Araucana as well as 3 Silkie chicks and 2 rowdy roosters who watch from behind their separate pen! The kids love caring for the chickens as well as holding and feeding them by hand, but nothing is sweeter than watching a tiny group of cotton balls running through the lawn with their mom
We are still novices with chickens and still have many questions regarding Silkie hens behaviors. I would love to chat with any and all who can fill me in!
