I have only one Silkie, Freida. She's pretty and a great foster mom, but if we relied on her for food, we'd starve! She's just over two years old and didn't lay her first egg until she was 14 months old! She was broody for months prior to that and most of the time since. Good thing she's easy on the eyes!!
