Just thought I would introduce myself. I am Emily, I live in South Dakota. I am married and have three kids, girl 7, girl 5 (erm will be 5 on Thursday), and a boy 2. This is our first time raising chickens, our chicks will be here tomorrow! My husband talked me into getting about twice the amount of chickens I was thinking we would start with

, but we will have 25 Silver Laced Wyandotte hens, 25 Red Ranger hens, and one RR rooster. And call me crazy, but I am so excited and know that between the 5 humans that live here our chickens will be no problem, once we get a routine down. We were planning on starting to build our coop this weekend, since most of our snow had melted, but then we were hit with a storm today, and have a fresh foot of snow on the ground. It should be gone by next week.
