Hi all I'm new to chicken keeping I've been mooching through your forums for months you've got a great site and I'm really happy to be here :) I have some new babies but I'm not sure whether they are male or female so I'll be hoping for some help from you lovely people:) looking forward to getting to know you x
 
Welcome to BYC! At lot of us were lurkers for awhile before finally joining, but we're happy you decided to join our flock. Do you know what breeds your new babies are? If not, when you post pics later on, maybe we can help ID both the breeds and gender for you. If you can post full body profiles showing legs and tails, it would help at lot. Good luck with your flock.
 
thank you both for your replies :) i was told that they were marans and mille fluer pekins? I'm not really sure though, the marans are supposed to be 10 weeks old and the little duster chickens( as my little one calls them) are supposed to be 8 weeks old, how old should they be before i can post pics of them? i'm really greatful to you for your help and advice :)

They are old enough that you can go ahead and post now, and we can probably ID the breed and gender for you. Then you can re post again for further gender verification a month from now.
