Hi all!
I've been scouring the interwebs for years on how to raise backyard chickens and was finally able to get my own flock of 5 this past March. We have a Golden Laced Wyandotte, a Buff Orpington, a Speckled Sussex, and two Easter Eggers. The sussex and one of the EEs just started laying this past week at only 18/19 weeks! I'm such a proud mama, and my human children are thrilled too! We do limited free ranging, as we live next to some wilderness and there are hawks aplenty in the area, so the hens can only go out when I'm out with them. I'm excited to join the flock here at BYC!
Here's my daughter proclaiming "SHEEkun! Hi sheekun!" along with Henrietta (Sussex, top), Jean Grey (EE, left), Lady (Wyandotte, middle), and Storm (EE, right). Buffy the BO is shy of everyone and everything, so she's hiding in the run as usual.

) Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's favorite chickens. She loves the colored eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
and Welcome To BYC! What a cute picture!
