Hi there, I have raised many things in my life but never ever chickens. Honestly, I am a little intimidated by my lack of knowledge. I am sure I will be using this forum for help and support.

Wow, I feel so welcome.

I have a nice little baby flock right now. 2 Road Island reds pullets, 1 buff Orphington these are 4 weeks old. I also have 2 2week old Americanas. Last night my husband and I took them out to our barn and sat in one of our stalls on the floor and let them all run around us for about 30 mins. The stall is enclosed and I live in Phoenix, so obviously it is warmer than most parts of the US and they had such fun. The older girls have had small outings, but the little ones had not. I had been introducing them for the last week to the older girls and have had no pecking going on. I was truly amazing how much they acted like a little flock. I did not expect that. Obviously, they are two little to go out, but we wanted them to stretch their legs and wings.
