Ruby hadn't been watching the executions for she found them revolting and disturbing. She grimaced, and gasped covering her mouth. She drew back from the balcony.

Ruby soon approached the balcony scrutinizing him as he morphed with the crowd and out of the alleyway. She glanced for a moment at the dead executioner.

"Awe..I'm sorry.." The raven lightly brushed his feathered head against her shoulder to brighten her mood. "Shh."

"Thanks." Maddelyn said, patting its head. "What's your name? I've never met a talking raven before."

Ruby trudged through town and failed at searching for him. After an hour of searching she strolled to the local river to fill up her buckets. She halted when the same person sat there, she mistakenly stepped on a few dead twigs, and leaves.
