Hidden eggs!! Are they safe to eat??

I found 12 eggs hidden in the bush this morning.
I'm counting eggs # everyday and I only got 1 on Tuesday and none yesterday.
Normally I get 3-5 eggs everyday from my 6 girls so I think those hidden eggs are from last few days.
I put in the water and none of them are floating.
They got dirty on but no poop.
Just last few days we got crazy rain but not crazy heat.

If I cook them thru pretty good, is it OK to eat??
Or I should give them back to girls??

i would crack them individually into a bowl before cooking them. if they look/smell ok, they are probably fine. i would thoroughly cook them though, just to be safe. that is what i do with any "questionable" eggs (damaged, really dirty, unknown age, etc)

I agree that the float test should be your guide.
