Faline slowly lifted her head and yawned. Was he talking to her? How did she understand him the other humans she could never understand their language. She stood quiet

"Are you a shifter too? You smell like one" Mark said and watched her for injuries.
 
Faline thought for a moment "What is a shifter?" She had asked, this was the first time she had spoken since the police took her parents. Her parents had kept the secret from her, shifting out of her sight, she only knew the life of a deer that was it.

Mark blinked then grinned "We are shifters, don't be scared" He said and made sure the door was shut (the window didn't open) then he shifted to his wolf before shifting back to human again
 
Faline was confused, how could a human be an animal all in one? "How do you do that?" She asked
 
Faline looked down at her legs for a moment, thinking. "Then I am a shifter, right?" She asked
 
Faline thought, what? She thought hard, maybe she could shift. Then she flattened her ears, attaching to her head, the fur on her head growing to hair. Her legs became upright and also arms. She opened her eyes to find herself sitting up on the bed, her eyes sky blue and hair dirty blonde. She stared at her hands amazed
