Our chickens have 6 nest boxes that the 10 of them share. But for a little while now we have noticed quite a reduction in egg laying. I was concerned for the chickens health. Well when I was cleaning out their stall I noticed that all under the straw (hopefully we will be switching to pine bedding soon.) they are hiding their eggs.

What does this mean?

That they think it's a safe place to lay their eggs without them getting eaten or stolen by predators, and that is close as they can get to the ground.

Easter!
