High Altitude (6500ft) Meat Bird

I’m currently raising my first batch of 50 Cornish X meat chicks and I live in the mountains at 6,000 ft elevation. So far they have all done really well for me. I ordered them from a hatchery online and they were shipped across the country and all 50 arrived in good shape. Mine are 4 weeks old, so about halfway until they will be processed, but they are able to forage and jump around on things pretty well still at this point.

I'm at 6700 feet and have successfully raised 2 batches of cornishX. I keep them in a separate pen, actually a 6x6 chain link dog kennel (4ft high, covered) with a big dog house thing for them to go in at night and in weather. I'm switching to raising Bresse as a preference, but no problem with the CornishX. Just butcher them when you are supposed to, and only feed them for 12 hours a day. Take their food away at night or you will end up with problems from fast growth.
