HIGH Coops vs with no doors

My FIL has a coop that is about 4 feet off the ground. A small hole for the birds to get in and then they are off to bed.

We were thinking of doing the same, so they could come and go each day. But how would we do it if we wanted no predators to get in there? Wouldn't raccons and others just climb up the sides and go through the hole?

I havent been able to figure out any type of entrance that raccoons and possums couldnt climb up to get in. un
