I was very interested in breeding Light Sussex but the information out there is a bit confusing. I know the breed dropped way down in numbers years ago and are on the rise again. Most resources say that they lay anywhere from 220-260 eggs a year. That would be tremendous, but I am not sure it is still accurate. I've also heard they are just average layers. Are there any breeders out there that are paying attention to and selecting for egg production in the Light Sussex breed?
