Disappointed with Bielefelders

My Bielefelders are disappointing layers. I have five that are in their second season laying. They put out eggs well for maybe two months then production drops to one or two eggs a week total, then nothing. It's done for the year within three months! They're friendly hens and help keep bugs and slugs in the yard under control, but my ducks outlay them by miles. Breed information on McMurray website, where I ordered them, says they are good layers, but I have not found that to be true. Just venting here because I have no one else to complain to. 🤷‍♀️

I ended up with one Biel pullet on accident. She was my best layer, laid through the winter and seldom skipped a day, but her eggs had a popout on the end and went bad almost immediately.

The Biel cockerel was extremely aggressive to me. Perfect with the girls, though.

I think the population in the US has some issues.

My three from Dunlap Hatchery aren't my favorite either. They started laying late last fall, but didn't lay throughout the winter. I was told that they might not lay at all the first winter so I accepted it. They all picked back up when the weather starting warming, but as soon as a cold streak hit they quit. They're laying good now but I'll probably re-home a couple before this winter.
