Disappointed with Bielefelders

I was excited get this uber German chicken breed, but they have disappointed me. The cock is big but not in the range that they were claimed to be, and the egg laying really dropped off in the second year.

Do you have Breeder quality or hatchery birds?

I have 2, second year hens. Both produce fairly well and they are good sized hens but one is broody constantly. She raised a batch of biddies, took a month to start laying again and in another month was back to broody....every time I break her broody spell, she returns to broody in 2 weeks. She's on the fall sale list.

They were from Cackle Hatchery. Do you have breeder quality birds? do you sale birds or eggs?

Mine were from Ideal Hatchery. I generally sell my 3 year old hens in the fall, some started pullets in the late spring each year. I am in South Louisiana.
