High Energy Treats for Baby Chicks ???

I had a hen brood a few chick in the middle of a TN winter. Temp at night is 32 to 24. They are in an unheated hen house. I want to give them some high energy treats in addition to their starter food. Since I have extra eggs, I am going to fry (scramble) a few eggs in lots of oil and add lots of sugar to the mix. My hope it to help the mother to recovery quickly and get the babies of to a fast start.

Be careful how much sugar you add, that isn't good for them in high doses. Corn meal mixed in or corn bread would be good to throw in. Corn is always good for keeping their body temp up.

What does sugar do? Does it rot their teeth like in people? . . .
