High rate of losses this year--anybody else have similar experiences?

Sorry Ron, do you know of it was predators?
One of the missing 4 made it back today with all but 2 feathers gone in it's tail. One missing bird was in it's first training tosses. The other 2 could barely fly and were just beginning to trap train and venture outside the loft. All the birds that disappeared are gone without a trace. I am now down to 33 birds and one newly hatched squab. I have suffer worse losses. I will now begin to manage my birds with more caution.

I was surprised to learn that one of the squeakers in its solo flights were one of the birds to return.
There's no pace like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home.. Wait..... that line is Dorothy's from the Wizard of Oz..
I know you're happy on that return... :thumbsup

Lost his whole young bird team on one 6 mi toss!
MY ...! Condolences on your loss I feel your pain.
I lost my whole white homer (Belgium blood line) loft to a weasel attack almost 2 years to the day.
I was in shock and actually sick from grief.
I since rebuilt.
There is still a chance some of your birds may find home.

I have flown my birds in every type of weather. I do not fly in double digit frigid on the Celsius scale. Yes I have losses but never large. I never took low weather pressure cells into consideration thank you for your heads up.

I have played the exact same card as you when it came to training.
With excellent result because of the flock mentality.

I had one bird that went missing for over 3 months. Some fanciers have had badly injured or lost birds return home even years upon release with only guess to what have may happen.
