this is my first time keeping chickens & I might have made a mistake??
my poo tray is 26 inch off the floor and my roost is 10 inch over tray I keep 10
sex link/hybrids and it is working ok. but want to introduce 2 broody birds should I lower the tray & roost

Do the broodies have chicks, Or are you wanting them to sit in there, if wanting to sit you can build something under the droppings board?
 
How much floor space do you have in front of the tray and roost? Big bodied birds will need more of a "take off and landing zone" than smaller more agile breeds. The higher the roost, the more space they need.
