High school and chickens

I'm echoing the words of previous posters - please finish school. And please find somebody to talk to - your parents, a guidance counselor, a teacher, SOMEBODY - to help you through any problems you're having. I was miserable in high school, but it does getter better after graduation!

Good luck! Don't give up on your dreams!

I agree with others that say there are other options besides Public school. Talk to your counselor and your parents, PLEASE! My husband dropped out of HS, and he regrets it even now. He is 32. He did eventually get his GED and even attended college. But he still feels inadequate in certian ways. It comes up in conversation from time to time when someone asks when he graduated, or if he went to school with so and so. It may seem like the way out now but it will follow you. I know this is way in to the future, but imagine it being oyur child that wants to drop out, you would have to admit that you dropped out. My Dad quit school his senior year to go in to the service. It was 1963, and it wasn't such a big deal then but in 1986 when I told my parents I wanted to drop out, I used the "well Dad did it card"! I didn't drop out but I know it was hard for my Dad to deal with, just like its hard for my DH to tell my son to stay in school when he didn't stay either.

farmgirl... get an education hun. I graduated High School homeless. It wasn't easy, but I had goals for myself. I got teased a lot, even by teachers, and had things pretty rough throughout High School, but it was VERY MUCH worth it to stick it out. Don't let other people stand in your way. Don't let circumstances stand in your way, and DON'T be a quitter. If you get knocked down along the way, get back up if for nothing else but spite

NOTHING short of a liver transplant should stop you from going ahead and getting that diploma. You have already put in so much time working toward that goal, it would be sad to see it wasted dropping out of the race a few short years ahead of reaching the finish line. You already have real life skills, now couple that with a firm educational foundation, and you could do anything you want. Take some time to set some goals for yourself, and take small steps to accomplish those goals. The only teacher I ever liked taught me that in the 5th grade. I think he is one of the main reasons I didn't give into the pressure and finished what I started. He also taught me that I am worth more than giving up on myself

I see you have decided to stay, but remember this decision long term. It'll often get worse before it gets better. Strengthen your resolve...there will always be rough patches.

Do a charter school,hs, or test out of HS by getting your states GED done.Really no need to go to a public high school if you are not comfortable there. There are so many options when it comes to getting an education. The key is to educate yourself. How and where you do that is up to you.

I would never make my children stick with a school if they hated it.You can not learn well if you are hating every moment of it-you just want to get it done and get out.

Best wishes whatever you decide to do!
