yes, i do! one of my chickens (i think) is incubating an egg! I have this pretty silky rooster, but he attacks me

Actually, that will make him want to get you more. Roosters only attack when they are scared. One has to shelf their ego's to work with a rooster. You want everything you do to be respectful and without challenge. Meaning, you don't want to be dominant or submissive; you need to send him the message that you just are not going to "play the game". The advice you were given to walk around with him is good.

If you win a hen over, its kind of like so what....but if you win a rooster over you will have a best friend for the rest of his life.
