I am a new member to this forum. I am so pleased to be here with all these chicken lovers. I love and i will be so happy to give my modest contribute to every question you guys have. I am a 21 years old boy from Albania. 11 years ago i discovered my passion for chickens and since then I have been taking care and growing about 60 chicks every year. my problem is that here in Albania people do not a have a pure breed of chicken. Everyone's chickens are not pure breed. there isn't a person I know that has a pure breed chicken in his/her flock. The problem with these chickens is that they start laying eggs at 8 month of age (if you're lucky ) . They lay during the year a lot of eggs but 8 months is a lot of time. I just love to have some Rhode Island reds, New Hampshires , orpingtons, leghorn, faverolles, welsummers and Barnevelders. I have red that most of the breeds I mentioned reach maturity much much much faster than my hens. my question is : How can I have these breeds in my flock ? Is it possible to export hatching eggs or even chicks internationally ?
thanks for reading . hope I have answers soon. i will also upload some pictures of my colourful flock these days. byeee

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Not too many people ship eggs out of the country and I don't think there is an Albania thread here on BYC. But you might stop by our Buy Sell and Trade section to see if anyone can ship out of the country...

https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade

You might also pick a breed you are interested in, say "Black Australorp" and check out the thread on the breed in the General Breed Discussion section and ask if anyone can possibly ship eggs to you....

https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/316084/australorps-breed-thread

For other breeds, just type the name, Rhode Island Red Thread in the white box at the top of this page and you can locate other breeds as well. Just ask around in these breed threads to see if someone can ship you eggs.

I hope you can find what you are looking for. I can imagine it is frustrating not being able to get the birds you desire.

Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! TwoCrows has given you some good advice and I'm sure you will get much more useful information from the BYC members. Good luck in finding the chicken breeds you want.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! TwoCrows gave you some good advice, hope you are able to find the breeds you want. You might check out some of the European threads, or do a search on for threads on countries around you to see if you can find people with purebreds, it would probably be easier to get eggs from... there is a long UK thread for example https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/2199/anyone-in-england.
