Hell all I am new to this group. I have been here multiple times looking through articles but I have finally joined in. I live in Eastern Canada. Not sure what to say here so I will just answer some of the questions suggested.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are totally greenhorns at this We got out first chicks last spring so this is all firsts for us
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10
(3) What breeds do you have?
8 mixes and 2 bielefelder roosters
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I Like the interaction with them they are all very different. Eggs are rewarding but I just enjoy being with them
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting, Crocheting, Gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am 26 we just moved into our new home we have been building for 4 years. Our chickens bees and gardens were there long before us. We have 3 house cats and another 3 rescues we care for. I work as a Medical Receptionist from Monday to Friday.
We are hoping to be able to sell some eggs in the near future when production is up and build on to our coop so we can house a few more chickens. The coop we have now can hold 20 according to the 3Sqf per chicken rule but it still seems cramped so we will stay with 10 until we can build on.
