Thanks so much for sharing of pic of them and what a wonderful job you did hatching them.

Nekhebet - the eggs can be shipped and would only likely take a day to get to you since you're not that far.

WHen do you anticpate starting to pick hatching eggs???

It depends on which ones you want and when the hens are fully laying and fertility is confirmed. My buffs have already resumed laying from their fall moult, but they could shut off again if we get a nasty winter. I expect the blacks to come back into lay before spring as well. Otherwise, they typically start in February/March. If anyone wants their eggs sooner than spring, let me know and I will advise when they are available. For now, I'm assuming most want them in spring.

OMG Your lavs are sooo gorgeous. I love how they are such a bright clear lavender and the tails are so ruffley. Yeah I can feel myself caving....

How much are the lav chicks? I'd most likely come and get them if I can get trylin to split it with me. though I could use a buff roo too.

Lavender chicks are $20 each for pickup. I will be growing out some buffs in the spring and expect to have excess cockerels available as well if you'd like to coordinate. No grown roos available though in buff.

Hi rancher hicks, I reponded to your pm. I would say with the new line of black orps brought in to the lavenders this past year, we shouldn't have any concerns about inbreeding for a while. Genetic diversity should be excellent with this group.
