Hello,
I'm getting back into chickens this year now that I have enough space for a little flock. I always had chickens growing up, and my Grandma was seriously into them and always kept a pretty large flock. I'm planning on building an 8x12 (footprint) cattle panel hoop pen for them, and am working on coop for that. The various Cattle Panel threads here have been very helpful and I've stolen little ideas from many of them, so I figured it was time to join and will share some of the ideas I've come up with once I'm actually building it. I've placed an order for 7 Amber Whites (love them, big sweeties-these are through Dunlap I believe) through my local feed store which will arrive in late April and I'm super excited to get them! I've got a brooder set up indoors with a brinsea plate heater (I love these things), and can't wait to get started on the pen once the snow here melts. Raising chicks again after such a long break will probably be more fun for me than ever since I can really go all out for them this time around. Happy to be here!
