Good to know. They are my first birds. We bought 6 pullets but a hawk took one before we got the top on. I cannot let them free range very often as hawks are a big problem. Thank God for the crows who often run them off. But they still come to the gate and look at me as if asking to come out. So sad.
 
I have 2 easter eggers that r 20 weeks old and still not laying. I go out to the nest every day just hoping I'll see some pretty eggs, but I guess it's in their due time no matter how much I ask them to please give me eggs lol.
 
Welcome to Backyard chickens. What a beautiful flock you have. They may not start laying till spring when there are longer hours of daylight.
