Hi friends! I'm Marj, a first-time chicken mama with three chickens.
Back in June, I brought home two week-old Easter Egger chicks, Plum and Custard - my sweethearts. I raised them in my kitchen til they were big enough to be in the coop. It was a little hard letting them go outside after bonding with them indoors (I used to sing those spoiled babies to sleep every night), but it's a joy watching them grow and change every day.
Plus, I don't miss the poop or the pine shreds.
Two weeks ago, I added an Ayam Cemani pullet to our gang. Her name is Aubergine and she's a little love, even though she's definitely decided to be the boss of the other two!
These are my first chickens ever, but I also keep 4 aquariums (Bloodfin Tetra, Bettas, Amano shrimp, Mystery and Rams Horn snails if you're into that sort of thing), 19 tarantulas and a cat. I'm kind of eclectic I guess
Pretty much every time I research a question about chickens or look for perspective, I end up here, so I figured it was well past time for me to register an account. So... here I am!
And, of course, obligatory pictures of my babies.
