I acquired my first chickens Wednesday night. I was so excited and possibly got a bit carried away (nahhhh-though I can see where they are addicting!) I've loved chickens ever since I was little and my parents had some.
Ok, I'm not quite sure what breeds they are and would like some input. If you want to take a stab at guessing ages too, I'd appreciate that.
First, how about little "Kellogg"? He came along with a little hen that is really cute too (that's her butt to the left). I'm not sure what breed they are. I think he's a banty of some sort (maybe a Serama?) I've only had her since Wednesday, and I have a shop light in my coop, so hopefully she'll start laying a few for me. Kellogg's crow is so comical. He has a hard time hitting the last note of his "cock-a-doodle-do" though he tries so hard. He'll try again and again when we say, "You can do it!" We've only had him a couple of days and we've gotten such a kick out of him. This pair is pretty tame and he's sat on my hand if I hold still. I really like these two.
What breed do you think this guy is? I placed him with my RIR hen and my Silver Laced Wyandotte. Not sure how old he is, but wow, his spurs are VERY long!
Thanks!
