We got four chicks on Saturday. Two Araucanas and two Buff Orpingtons. They were shipped to where we bought them on Thursday.

I do not know if they were actually day-old chicks.

By Sunday they started developing wing and tail feathers, and today their wings seem to be really in. They flap their wings when they run now, and stay awake a lot during the day.

I have been trying to take pictures but the little cuties keep coming out blurry.

I can post a semi-clear photo if it will help.

Does anyone have a link for pics of chicks at certain development stages?

Thanks.

Chicks grow at different rates. If you post photos, it would definitely be more helpful. Most likely though your chicks were shipped as day olds. Assuming a day or two for shipping, they would be around one week old.

Wow! Already when you peer over their pen ,they stare up at you and try to fly right up into your face! They can use their wings to jump about 10
inches in the air.

I thought for sure they are older. I'll try to take some of them sleeping.

They are growing so fast! We love them. Four different personalities, too.
