Anyone had any luck curing these? We have a big rooster whose hock joint is sore. He's been on hospital pen rest with baby aspirin for a week with no improvement. No other symptoms and he is eating well. I'm thinking vet wrapping it might be an option, and we are going to try epsom salts soaks. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with this. I don't really want to splint it because I think it would be difficult to keep a splint in place.

Hi,

How's your rooster doing now? If still having problems, what breed and age is he?

The epsom salts soaking was a good idea!

He unfortunately kept declining. He was a big heavy cockerel actually, not even a year old, Idk what he did but had he filled out completely upon reaching adulthood he would've been huge. He never had any symptoms except the lameness in the one leg so I'm sure it was an injury and we just couldn't fix him. When he reached the point where he had to use his wing and beak to drag himself around, we decided it was time to send him over the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks for following up.
